P.O.S.A. was founded in the year of 2016 by Shatoya McConnell out of a deeply personal journey. While seeking support for partners in relationships with sex addicts, Shatoya often found herself advised to turn to pastors, priests, prayer, or meditation, or simply to leave the addict—without any clear understanding or meaningful guidance. Feeling lost and without adequate support, she took matters into her own hands, establishing P.O.S.A. in Los Angeles, CA.

To her surprise, the response was overwhelming. Many individuals eagerly joined the weekly meetings, seeking the precise support and understanding that had been missing. P.O.S.A. quickly evolved into a safe space, not just for partners but also for family members seeking mentorship, counseling, and a sense of community. Shatoya’s vision became a lifeline for those navigating the complexities of relationships impacted by sex addiction.
